Bats are already being decimated by white nose fungus. Some organizations reclaiming mines are building structures to keephumans out but still allow bats to move in. We are to experience what the space is like from the inside and how we would like to perceive it from the outside- A beacon of what we left behind and what it holds for the future.

There are three different chambers in the structure, each leading to a different mine underground with different structural and light conditions. Light penetrates the surface of the mine at specific points, creating different types of spaces. The well lit chamber represented in the section aboveis structurally different than the one behind it, with organic shapes and curves in the ceiling, offering a dynamically space for the bats.
